Trust, explained simply

LockBox is designed with a familiar idea: sensitive content should live where you decide, not where a remote server does. The app focuses on local protections first.

On-device. No server by default. Vault content is stored on your device. There is no requirement to upload your private media to a remote service to use the core features.

  • Vault secured with industry-standard AES‑256 encryption.
  • Face ID / Touch ID and passcode support for unlocking.
  • Keys stored using the system Keychain where appropriate.
  • Album‑based organisation for photos, videos, and documents.
  • Import from Photos, Files, or other trusted sources.
  • Optional decoy mode planned for an alternate, low‑sensitivity view.

Privacy approach

Details may evolve during development, but the principles are stable: minimise data, and keep sensitive content as close to the device as realistically possible.

  • Vault content is not uploaded to Viya App Studio servers.
  • If analytics are used, they will be focused on usage patterns — not on the content of your vault.
  • Any analytics or crash reporting will aim to be privacy‑preserving and configurable where possible.
  • Future versions may include a dedicated /lockbox/privacy/ page with app‑specific details.

Common questions

Do you upload my photos or videos?

No. The vault is designed around local storage. Your private content is meant to stay on the device unless you explicitly export or back it up.

What happens if I delete the app?

Deleting the app will normally remove local data connected to it. If you rely on device backups (such as iCloud backups), copies may remain in those backups until they expire or are removed.

Is LockBox a subscription?

Pricing is still being explored. The goal is a clear, fair model without hidden steps or confusing upgrade flows.

Will there be a public roadmap?

A simple roadmap or change log is planned after the first public release so you can see what is changing and why.

Can I export my vault?

Export and backup options are planned so you can move or archive content when needed, with clear explanations of what is included.
