Cronk Privacy Policy

Cronk is built to keep your data yours. This policy describes what the app does — and deliberately doesn't do — with your information.

The short version

  • Your reminders and completion history are stored on your device.
  • Nothing you type into Cronk is ever sent to us or to any third party.
  • If you purchase Cronk Unlimited and are signed in to iCloud, your data syncs through your own private iCloud account — we cannot see it.
  • We collect a small set of anonymous usage statistics (via TelemetryDeck) that contain no personal information and no reminder content.
  • No accounts, no ads, no tracking, no selling of data. Ever.

What stays on your device

Everything you create in Cronk — reminder titles, notes, emoji, categories, schedules, completion history, and completion notes — is stored locally on your iPhone. Cronk has no user accounts and operates no servers of its own.

iCloud sync (Cronk Unlimited)

If you purchase Cronk Unlimited and are signed in to iCloud, your reminders sync across your devices using Apple's CloudKit, inside your private iCloud database. This data is governed by your Apple account and Apple's privacy policy; we have no access to it. Turning off iCloud for Cronk in iOS Settings stops sync at any time.

Anonymous analytics

To understand whether the app works well (for example, how many people complete onboarding or reach the upgrade screen), Cronk sends a small number of anonymous event signals using TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service. These signals:

  • contain no reminder content, names, or personal data of any kind;
  • use salted, hashed identifiers — they cannot be tied to you or your device identity;
  • include no advertising identifiers (IDFA) and are never used for tracking or profiling.

The complete list of events: onboarding completed, notification permission outcome, upgrade screen shown, purchase completed, first reminder completion. That's all.

Purchases

Payments for Cronk Unlimited are processed entirely by Apple. We receive no payment details — Apple provides us only anonymous, aggregate sales reporting.

Notifications

Reminder notifications are scheduled and delivered locally on your device. Notification content never leaves your device.

Data export and deletion

You can export all of your data (Settings → Export) as JSON or CSV at any time. Deleting the app deletes all locally stored data. iCloud-synced data can be removed by deleting the app's data from iCloud in iOS Settings → your Apple ID → iCloud.

Children

Cronk does not collect personal information from anyone, including children, and is rated 4+.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
