Cronk Privacy Policy

1. The short version

• Your reminders and completion history are stored on your device.
• Nothing you type into Cronk is ever sent to us or to any third party.
• If you are signed in to iCloud, your data syncs through your own private iCloud account — we cannot see it. Sync is free for everyone; no purchase is required.
• We collect a small set of anonymous usage statistics (via TelemetryDeck) that contain no personal information and no reminder content.
• No accounts, no ads, no tracking, no selling of data. Ever.

2. What stays on your device

Everything you create in Cronk — reminder titles, notes, emoji, categories, schedules, completion history, and completion notes — is stored locally on your iPhone. Cronk has no user accounts and operates no servers of its own.

Reminder titles are also added to your device's own Spotlight index, so you can find a reminder by searching from the Home Screen. That index belongs to iOS and stays on your device; deleting a reminder removes it from the index too.

3. iCloud sync

If you are signed in to iCloud, your reminders sync across your devices using Apple's CloudKit, inside your private iCloud database. Sync is available to every user at no cost — it uses your own iCloud storage, not ours. This data is governed by your Apple account and Apple's privacy policy at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/ ; we have no access to it. Turning off iCloud for Cronk in iOS Settings stops sync at any time.

4. Anonymous analytics

To understand whether the app works well (for example, how many people complete onboarding or reach the upgrade screen), Cronk sends a small number of anonymous event signals using TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service whose own policy is at https://telemetrydeck.com/privacy/ . These signals:

• contain no reminder content, names, or personal data of any kind;
• use salted, hashed identifiers — they cannot be tied to you or your device identity;
• include no advertising identifiers (IDFA) and are never used for tracking or profiling.

Three kinds of signal are sent, and these are all of them:

• Product events — onboarding completed, notification permission outcome, upgrade screen shown, purchase completed, first reminder completion. Some carry one non-identifying detail, such as which screen opened the upgrade page, or whether you allowed notifications.
• Schedule counts, at most once per launch — how many reminders are active, how often they repeat, and how the notification budget seated them: on their own notification, on a shared one, or not at all.
• Diagnostics — when something fails inside the app, such as a save that does not complete or a notification that cannot be scheduled, Cronk sends the system error code and how many items were affected, so the failure can be found without anyone having to ask you what happened.

None of the three carries reminder titles, notes, dates, times, or identifiers.

5. Purchases

Payments for Cronk Unlimited are processed entirely by Apple. We receive no payment details — Apple provides us only anonymous, aggregate sales reporting.

6. Notifications

Reminder notifications are scheduled and delivered locally on your device. Notification content never leaves your device.

7. Data export and deletion

You can export all of your data (Settings → Export) as JSON or CSV at any time. Deleting the app deletes all locally stored data. iCloud-synced data can be removed by deleting the app's data from iCloud in iOS Settings → your Apple ID → iCloud.

8. Children

Cronk does not collect personal information from anyone, including children, and is rated 4+.

9. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
