Cronk Support
Frequently Asked Questions
Questions, bug reports, ideas — we read everything. Below are the things worth knowing that aren't obvious from the app itself.
Support viyaappstudio@gmail.comScheduling & Completion
How does scheduling work when I complete a task late?
Cronk keeps your cadence, not your guilt. When you complete a task late, the next reminder stays anchored to the original rhythm — an "every 3 days" plant watering due Monday but done Wednesday still comes back on the Monday cycle.
What happens if I complete a task early?
When you complete a task early (from the reminder's detail screen, with a confirmation), Cronk re-anchors and schedules the next occurrence one full interval from today — matching what actually happened in real life.
I marked something done by accident. Can I undo it?
Yes. An Undo button appears for about 6 seconds in the confirmation banner (and on the detail screen). It restores the previous due date and removes the logged completion.
What intervals does Cronk support?
Anything from every hour to every several years — any count of hours, days, weeks, months, or years. Intervals use calendar-aware arithmetic, so "every month" on the 31st and leap years behave sensibly.
Notifications & Escalation
How does escalation work?
Each reminder can optionally escalate: if you don't mark it done, Coco follows up at +30 minutes, +1 hour, +2 hours, and +4 hours after the due time. After that, every overdue reminder gets one daily reminder at its original due time-of-day, for up to 14 days. Escalation is per-reminder, and a default for new reminders is in Settings → Notifications.
How does Snooze work?
Notifications have a Snooze button (duration configurable in Settings → Notifications: 30 min / 1 h / 2 h). Snoozing silences that reminder's follow-ups until the snooze fires — snoozing means snoozed.
Why do reminders arrive during Focus or Sleep mode?
Due and escalation notifications are Time Sensitive, so a 9 PM medication reminder arrives even during Sleep or Work Focus. If you prefer they don't: iOS Settings → Notifications → Cronk → turn off "Time-Sensitive Notifications". Daily overdue summaries never break through Focus.
I'm not getting notifications at all. What should I check?
Check iOS Settings → Notifications → Cronk → Allow Notifications, then use Settings → Notifications → "Send test notification" inside the app to verify delivery.
Free Plan & Cronk Unlimited
What does the free plan include?
The free plan includes 5 reminders (active and paused both count) with every feature: escalation, history, all intervals, widgets, and Siri. Nothing is held back except the reminder count.
What is Cronk Unlimited?
Cronk Unlimited is a one-time $3.99 purchase — not a subscription, it never renews. It unlocks unlimited reminders and iCloud sync across your devices.
I already bought Cronk Unlimited. How do I get it on another device?
Tap "Restore Purchases" on the upgrade screen. The purchase follows your Apple ID, so it works on any device signed in to the same account.
How do refunds work?
Payment is processed by Apple, and refunds are handled exclusively by Apple under their standard policies at reportaproblem.apple.com.
iCloud Sync
What do I need for iCloud sync?
iCloud sync requires Cronk Unlimited and being signed in to iCloud on each device. Sync runs through your private iCloud — we never see your data.
Sync seems stale. What can I do?
Pull down on the home list to refresh. Also make sure iCloud is enabled for Cronk in iOS Settings on both devices.
Can I turn sync off?
Yes. Turning off iCloud for Cronk in iOS Settings stops sync at any time. Your data stays on each device.
Widgets & Siri
How do I add the widgets?
Long-press the Home Screen → + → search "Cronk" (or on the Lock Screen: long-press → Customize → tap the widget area). There's also a guided version in the app: Settings → Widgets.
What do the widgets show?
Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets show your next due reminder — and the Home Screen widget's Done button works without opening the app.
How do I use Siri with Cronk?
"Hey Siri, mark ⟨reminder name⟩ done in Cronk" completes a due reminder hands-free. Siri phrases are English-only for now.
Backup, Export & Import
How do I back up my data?
Settings → Export creates a JSON backup of everything — reminders, categories, and completion history. Keep it in Files, iCloud Drive, or anywhere you like.
Can I export my completion history?
Yes. Settings → Export also offers a CSV of your completion history — handy for showing a medication log to your doctor or a service record to a mechanic.
How do I restore on a new device?
Settings → Import restores a JSON backup, including history and categories, on any device.
What happens if I delete the app?
Deleting the app deletes all locally stored data. If you use iCloud sync, synced data can be removed from iOS Settings → your Apple ID → iCloud. Export a backup first if you want to keep a copy.
Privacy
Where does my data live?
Everything stays on your device unless you enable iCloud sync, which uses your private iCloud. Cronk has no accounts and no servers — nothing you type is sent to us or anyone else.
Does Cronk collect analytics?
Only a small set of anonymous usage signals via privacy-focused TelemetryDeck — never reminder content, names, or personal data, and never for tracking. The complete list is in the privacy policy.
